Urban Frontier Bench

This artwork masqueraded as an auction on eBay as a part of an exhibition titled #exstrange. Through this piece, I was interrogating how the cultural labor of young people of color in youth arts and humanities programs can be used to pay for the salaries of primarily white administrative staff, as well as create "spectacles of ethnicity," as Stuart Hall put it, that make urban communities of color desirable for cosmopolitan white young people seeking housing affordable to them.
